Assist – Travel / Transport
Safe, reliable support to help you get where you need to go.
What is
Assistance with Travel / Transport?
Assist – Travel / Transport provides help with getting from home to the places that matter in your life.
Depending on your needs, this might mean:
A support worker driving you in their vehicle
Travelling with you in a taxi or rideshare
Supporting you to use public transport more independently
The aim is to make travel safer, easier and less stressful so you can access services, activities and opportunities in your community.
Ways we can support your travel
Transport support can look different for everyone. We can help with:
Medical and health appointments – GP, specialists, therapy, allied health and hospital visits
Everyday errands – shopping, banking, post office and other essential trips
Programs and activities – day programs, community groups, sports, classes and social events
Work and study – transport to and from work, training, TAFE, university or volunteering
Public transport training – where appropriate, helping you learn how to use buses, trains or trams safely and confidently
We’ll look at your routine and work out where transport support will make the biggest difference.
