Participate Community

Support to get out, stay connected and be part of your local community.

What is

Community Participation?

Community Participation support is all about helping you take part in everyday life outside the home.
A support worker can accompany you to places and activities that matter to you, offering practical help, encouragement and safety along the way.

This might involve:

  • Going to appointments, shopping or the bank

  • Visiting family and friends

  • Joining clubs, groups or classes

  • Enjoying social, recreational or cultural activities

Ways we can support you

Every person’s week looks different. Depending on your goals and NDIS plan, we can help with things like:

  • Appointments & errands – GP visits, specialist appointments, pharmacy, banking and post office

  • Shopping trips – grocery shopping, buying clothes, choosing household items

  • Social activities – cafes, movies, local events, sports, visiting friends and family

  • Hobbies & interests – art classes, community groups, gyms, libraries or faith-based activities

  • Learning to get around – building confidence with public transport, routes and travel routines

We’ll plan supports that feel achievable and meaningful for you.

Who is Community Participation support for?

Participate Community is suitable for NDIS participants who:

  • Want to get out of the house more often

  • Feel unsure or anxious about going places alone

  • Would like help using public transport or local services

  • Have goals related to independence, social connection or community access

You don’t need to know exactly what you want to do yet — we can explore options together.

How our community participation support works

  • We talk about your goals
We begin by understanding what you’d like to do more of — shopping, social outings, appointments, hobbies or something new.

  • We plan your outings
Together we plan when, where and how often you’d like to go out, making sure it fits your NDIS funding and routine.

  • We support you in the community
Your support worker is there to provide practical help, reassurance and encouragement while you participate in activities.

  • We build skills over time
As your confidence grows, we can gradually step back or try more independent options, always at your pace.
