Assisting independent living is one type of support you can receive to live in your own home.
Its responsibilities are helping or supervising ndis daily tasks shared living, such as preparing meals and personal care. They allow you to become more independent and develop your skills.
With supported independent living, individuals require some level of help at home all the time and have higher support needs.
Individuals with disabilities with high support needs are most likely to benefit from supported independent living.
In other words, you need significant help every day, seven days a week. Overnight assistance is also required.
Supported independent living may be available to NDIS participants who live with other NDIS participants. You may qualify for a supported independent living if you live alone, but you prefer another option.
Funding for supported independent living cannot be used for renting or food.
The NDIS can assist participants in living independently. Participants’ home and living goals can be discussed as part of the planning process.
The Australian people deserve to live in a stable and safe environment. People with tenancy issues, or those vulnerable to homelessness, can receive assistance from Australia Independent Living ndis agency i.e Advance Care in finding stable housing.
A support coordinator is also funded for individuals who receive supported independent living.
We will assist you in locating a healthcare provider to complete the roster of care submission with you.
We can help you find providers if you don’t have funding for support coordination.
Supported Independent Living (SIL) is a shared living arrangement of 2 to 7 NDIS participants that provides 24/7 support. The arrangement assists people with disabilities with everyday tasks. Each resident is funded individually, and each resident’s funding reflects the support each resident receives while living in the home.
You will only receive SIL funding after securing a house and housemates if you are eligible. We can assist in submitting funding requests to the NDIS for approval once these steps have been completed.
Your funding for the NDIS is only for support needs and is based on the level of care you need for your resident. Services that are NOT covered by the NDIS include:
The rent for the house;
Fees for activities or supplies while hospitalised, such as food;
Assistive technology, transport costs, the day program, and work are also covered in the NDIS price guide.
Rent-affordable properties are being created under the National Rental Affordability Scheme (NRAS). Participants who need specialised housing because of their disability may be eligible for NDIS assistance with housing costs.
